World AIDS Day 2007

Today is World AIDS Day. Think. Be smart. Stay safe.

Check out the International Medical Corps and US Health and Human Services pages for more info on HIV/AIDS stats and what you can do to keep safe.

Dead girl walking

The big national Japanese test is tomorrow and I've been futilely studying for the past couple of weeks. So, por favor, excuse the MIA-ness. I'll see you all on the other side... hopefully.

meeri kurisumasu!!

This year I won't be heading back to the States for the holidays, the States'll be coming to me. The fam will be coming to bask in the highly-christmas-light-covered glory that is Christmas in Japan. It should be fun as we'll head out of the city for a few days into the nearby mountains to soak in hot springs. Also, I'll actually experience a cold Christmas for the first time in memory (the ones from when I was an infant don't count).

So, just wanted to put the FYI out there. Hope everyone back home had a great Pie Day and didn't sustain any serious injuries in Black Friday shopping.

Chuckle, anyone?

Funniest Google searches that have brought people to my blog (I think this is very telling... scary):
  • Tranny feet*
  • Tokyo pee/Tokio pee girls
  • Perverted words to "Sweet Caroline"
  • Eeyore*
  • Is there a herpes hand signal?
* Indicates that this one came up a lot more than once.

I think a psychologist might have a heyday with this list. I love how I'm able to class up a joint just by walkin' in. Yeah, baby!

I'll add on to this as more funny ones come up. This post itself is sure to spark a whole new slew of random passersby. Welcome, one and all (except perverts)!!

Notes from a barstool

Never let someone read your palm when s/he's knocked back a few.

First I was told that I would marry and live a long, healthy life... then he realized he'd mixed the hands up and that's the life I was supposed to have but the life that I'm actually leading has me dying young (though healthy) and unmarried. Great.

And, no, I am not drunk at this time nor was I drunk when I got my palm read. That makes this worse.

Back

I guess I'm back. It's been less than a month since Tibbie was put down and I put up the previous post. That time has been alternately really sad and really busy. I don't really know what to write about next, but I guess it's got to start somewhere, so here it is. Hopefully the next post is more interesting and full. Please bear with me. Thanks.

In the meantime, I've still been contributing to the Global Themes photoblog, so feel free to stop by over there and check it out: www.globalthemes.org.
