It's a little difficult to see, but in this picture all three gorillas that we hung out with are there, including the silver back who is hiding in the bushes, sort of toward the upper right corner.

also this moment was right before...

I took this picture:

gorillas

For as long as I've known her (and I've known her since her beginning), my sister Emi has been obsessed with primates. When I told her I last week that I was going to Uganda to see the gorillas, she told me I was living one of her lifelong dreams.

and let the next adventure (almost) begin!

My awesome new Deuter "ladies" backpack is packed and checked (I outdid myself with my packing ability this time around... definitely a personal best), my insecticide-treated bed net is rolled and ready, my back issues of Marie Claire are waiting for me to airplane read them... This all means it must be travel time!

Watch this space for Adventures from Deutchsland, stories from the Real Housewives of Nyamata (Rwanda), some monkey (and silverback) business in Uganda, and a little bit of bronzing time in Zanzibar. At least, this is what's on the books so far, but I'm pretty sure I heard the words "Serengeti safari" at some point in the last week that are demanding some attention.
